Selena Gomez made a major statement by deciding to bare it all on the cover of her new album Revival. It was the perfect way to stick it to all the body shamers who tried to make her feel bad about gaining some weight earlier this year and show them she wasn't going to let their hate get to her.
But even though Selena isn't letting the hate get to her now, she did struggle with it in the beginning since body shaming was never something she had to deal with before. "This was the first year I ever dealt with anyone talking about my body," Sel told Us Weekly. "I'd land at the airport and people would yell out, 'You're fat!' It was awful."
Selena revealed that she's resorted to getting counseling to get through these hard times. "I've been working in therapy," she shared. And after it all, she's come to love her body the way it is, weight gain and all. "Even if I did gain weight, I'm fine."
And that's why Selena's revealing album cover is a symbol of her accepting her body and not caring what anyone thinks. "That's what the picture represents," she said.
